These are my hands.....well, no they are not my hands, they are Eli's hands, but they are my hands......Yeah, mine are a bit older, and a little pudgier, but there is no denying that these are my hands.
Ok, I guess this is not really a "self" portrait, I'll throw this in even though I didn't really want to....

FULL DAY/FUN DAY
Happy Birthday Rose and Evan!
It is nice to get to see friends on the weekend. I have to take advantage of this, because when wedding season starts I don't get to socialize much at all.
In the evening we went to an annual Chinese New Year celebration. Great food (sorry mister lobster), and great company. This is pretty much the only time each year we get to see these guys socially. Hopefully someday things slow down so we can have more times like this....
(second photo)I photographed John and Sarah's wedding a few years ago. As you can see, they have gone forth from then and multiplied!
(last photo)I just had to post this one. I think Jon will appreciate it.

3-DIMENSIONAL
Jonah is so creative. He likes to save everything because it can, at some point be used to make something. I love this. I am just now remembering that I used to save everything for Eli when he was younger...old radios, tv's, wood, etc. He didn't quite have the patience that Jonah does. He needed a little more immediate gratification, so he never did too much with the stuff, and focused more on drawing and video. I am thinking jonah could make great things given some interesting supplies. I'll have to start looking at the trash a little more closely. Here is a "rocket" Jonah made today out of some readily available supplies.

MISC.
Chaya has been having some trouble verbalizing lately. She has been growling and making raspberrys(fart noises as Jonah would say) as a passive aggressive way to avoid doing jobs, answering questions, etc....I hope this is a quickly passing phase.
"Jay" as he now likes to call himself bleached his hair all by himself this week.

GRAND PRIX
Today was the annual AWANA Grand Prix. Jonah and Chaya get to participate in this anticipated tradition. I think Eve will join in next year. Here's a run down....
Chaya's car was the Polly Pocket/butterflies/mirrors number. She won a 2nd place trophy for her design! This is the second year in a row that she won a design award. It was definitely not the fastest car around, but you could check out your hair from all angles
Jonah's car started out as a sword, but I think we ended up with a dagger. It was still a cool design in my opinion. It was a semi fast car. He won one race (yeah, his was the only car in the heat, but he won) and got second in a few. No trophies for Jonah. Oh well. We had a good time. Jonah is planning for next year!

FAMILY, FRIENDS, CHEESESTEAKS
The Gran Prix is tomorrow. We are all a little behind on completing our cars. I did my best to help Chaya, Jonah and some friends sand, paint and assemble their cars. I could really use a nice set of power tools. An orbital sander can only do so much to a block of wood.
Later in the day Josiah had some friends over(see Dalissa's entry today) and I made Cheesesteaks. I spent a better part of the evening discussing what was concidered acting "gay" and what was not. Ahhh, Junior High.
Ooops, I just showed my age.....Middle School.
