PRESENTATION PREPARATION

Jonah is preparing for a presentation in school tomorrow. Dalissa helped him button up his oral piece, while I helped put the finishing touches on his visuals.

SIMIAN RESPITE

Since I had nothing else to post at the end of the day today, I grabbed my camera and hoisted up the beer I was drinking. This says something because I was actually sitting and drinking a beer...or two. I decided I would go out and find some new and interesting beer selections to try when I have a chance. This was quite good. I think I like Belgian-style ales.

WEDDING SEASON!

Since this is my first wedding of the season, I figured I would post a few more images from Annie and Rory's wedding. This was a great way to start out the year. We were very lucky to have good weather under the threat of the impending Nor'easter. Everything went so well(much due to the hard work of Phyllis Richard www.your-fairy-godmother.com). The families and guests were great to work with, and everyone had a great time. The band (Sid Miller Dance Band) was in rare form. Check back to my website in a couple weeks to see the rest of the pictures.

AM/PM

Pretty much every Thursday morning/afternoon I give lessons in digital photography and Photoshop. Chris has been learning and building her business for around two years now. She has really created a great business, which I think is going to be huge. Not only is she a talented photographer, but she is a smart businessperson. I have a lot to learn from her about promoting a business. She has been concentrating on in studio children's portraiture. She has really developed a style of her own. Take a look at her site...www.christinedorian.com.
I have been trying to get Chris to start a 365 blog as well. I cannot stress how much can be learned by shooting a lot, in all different situations. If she does join in, I will add her to my list of OTHERS. One of my other"students" started her own 365 blog. Check out LYNETTE on my list. She is also quite talented.

Here is my part of Dalissa's Thursday post. This is my close up of the finely crafted horse that Chaya made. Pretty good, huh! Jonah's class built a city with working electricity. Hopefully he learns enough that he can start doing some of the electrical work around our house! All very impressive.

LAST AWANA

Tonight was the last regular Awana night of the year. I don't think we are going to continue it next year. There is a lot of change of leadership going on in the church in general, but Awana specifically is loosing a number of people who have helped out for years. I hope something else comes about for these kids...especially the younger kids. They really look forward to it, and enjoy it. The older kids (the boys especially) needed something a little more active and interactive anyway, Boys Jonahs age were feeling like they kind of have "outgrown" the program. They enjoy the Grand Prix, and the sleepover, but the weekly get together was just not up their alley. I guess this is my time to really get involved, or not. I would like to be part of setting up some kind of program that includes frequent camping trips or something.Hmmm.
As you can see from these pictures, the girls really get into the singing part of the night (Chaya in particular).......The boys, on the other hand....not so much.

PASSENGER

I have been the sole driving instructor for the past 2 months. Being a passenger has never been my favorite thing, but Eli is doing a nice job. Here we are with his friend Mike on a leisurely drive through Doylestown.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY/EASTER

Thus ends birthday season! Chaya turned 8 today, and along with celebrating Easter, we celebrated Josiah, Jonah and Chaya's birthdays with the family.
