I am getting more and more obsessed with Photoshop lately. I realize many of the images I have been posting here are overworked. I tend to do this when I am teaching myself new techniques. Not that there's anything wrong with that, right? I think I love photography because there is always a new angle, or a new technique to add to your arsenal. I find new things in Photoshop every day, and I have been using it since 1992! My current obsession is with textures and contrasts. I want to work the images to bring out every detail possible. My preference has been to do this without the aid of plug ins that do this automatically. I want to learn as many of the nuances of the program possible... why, I don't know. I guess I am just a geek, but I enjoy my geeky-ness.

16

This is one of a few pictures I took during Jay's birthday party. You just can't see the dancing and mosh pit here, but I thought it was a cool angle. I love my yard. I however don't love my neighbors.... it turns out 15 or so complained about the noise, and the local Police pulled the plug (in a nice way at least).

LITTLE RED STRING

I got to go down town today to enjoy a little art, and some time with friends. It is so valuable to see what other artists are doing, and to get inspired to do my own work. I must do this more often. The installation here is by some friends of mine, Jon and Kimberly Stemler. Here is a little info... http://www.citypaper.net/articles/2009/04/16/chinatown-influx-future-landscapes.

ZACHY AND ME

So, I just got done watching that movie Marley and Me, and spent the last 15 minutes crying my eyes out...in a silent, manly way, of course. I then proceeded to let Zach spend a few minutes on the couch that he is not allowed on, being pet lovingly by myself and Eve. I then felt it necessary to post another picture of him.
He really wanted to get to those ducks. Lucky for them, they are a little more used to swimming than he is.
